Drum Pads 24 ships
The first version goes live on Android in July 2013 with four sound packs. Finger drumming on a phone turns out to be something people want: the Drum Pads 24 apps have since passed 75 million installs, and the Drum Pads 24 YouTube channel has more than 500,000 subscribers.
Loop Pads arrives
Loop Pads 24 lands on Google Play in February and Loop Pads for iPhone and iPad follows on the App Store in May. Where Drum Pads 24 fires one hit per pad, Loop Pads keeps whole phrases running in sync, so a beat, a bassline and a melody come from a few taps. Two custom sound packs are produced for the opening ceremony of the 2017 Summer Universiade in Taipei.
Loop Pads 2.0 on iPhone and iPad
A rebuilt version of the iOS app arrives in February 2020: a new interface, audio effects, a drum kit section, a melody section and an acapella section, so vocals can be mixed with every sound pack, all in key.
Loop Pads 24 version 2.0 on Android
Loop Pads 24 grows from a pad app into a live loop launcher. Any loop can be chopped into slices and painted onto a step sequencer, with probability, pitch, ratchets and effect sends set per step. Automation curves move filters and levels while you play. Every clip has its own filter, bit crush and drive, the mix runs through reverb, delay, EQ, a compressor and a limiter, MIDI controllers and Ableton Link plug in, and the take records to WAV or exports as a video.
